Our Story

Africa has no shortage of brilliant women. Only a shortage of open doors.

Empowering women with the skills, mentorship, and technology opportunities to thrive — fueling inclusive growth and innovation across Africa.

Our Mission

Seeding Africa is a female-led, minority-owned nonprofit registered in the State of Georgia, USA. We were founded with a single conviction: that geography, gender, and economic circumstance should not determine a woman's access to the opportunities created by the AI revolution.

Through our Coursera Social Impact Partnership — formally established in February 2026 — we deliver fully funded scholarships in AI, data science, data analytics, and machine learning engineering to women across Africa. Every scholarship includes mentorship, career coaching, and job placement support.

Our Vision

"Drive sustainable economic growth and gender equality by equipping women in developing countries with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the Information Technology sector."

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our work is anchored to three of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Every scholarship we fund, every career we launch, and every partnership we build is a direct contribution toward ending poverty, advancing gender equality, and creating decent work and economic growth across Africa.

What We Stand For

Four principles that guide everything we do.

From our founding in Atlanta to our reach across Africa, these values are the foundation of every decision, every scholarship, and every partnership we enter into.

01

Diversity & Inclusion

Expanding access and opportunity for women across Africa — driving continent-wide inclusion through a strategic partnership with Coursera.

02

Positive Social Impact

When a woman builds a career in technology, she transforms her family, her community, and her continent. We measure success in careers launched and lives changed.

03

Closing the Digital Talent Gap

We partner with certified technology training providers to equip women with high-demand AI and data skills — building a pipeline of market-ready professionals and creating direct pathways to economic advancement across Africa.

04

Nurturing Future Leaders

Mentorship, coaching, and entrepreneurship support — preparing women to be self-sufficient and to become leaders in their own right.
